Job Description:
BasTech is a high tech manufacturing company utilizing Additive Manufacturing as well as traditional Manufacturing techniques. BasTech serves various industries with a strong focus on aerospace and defense. Products range from prototypes from our multiple 3D Printing Systems in plastics or metal, to Production tooling and parts in Wax and Plastics.
Full-Time Monday-Friday 7:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M.
Candidates must be able to work occasional overtime to maintain production
BasTech is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Technician who wishes to expand their knowledge and capabilities in an Additive Manufacturing environment.
Job Duties:
- Sets up and operates injection-molding machines to cast products from thermoplastic materials
- Installs dies on machine, according to work order specifications, using clamps, bolts, and hand tools
- Sets machine controls, regulating molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure and time, according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures
- Loads material into machine, removes parts from mold using hand tools as necessary
- Trim excess flash/material using hand tools or press as necessary
- May mix thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments in mixing machine, according to formula; may grind scrap plastic into powder for reuse
- Document processes and procedures to maintain records
- Set up auxiliary equipment
- Troubleshoot and problem solve injection molding, auxiliary, and secondary operations
- Inventory, identify, select, and prepare resins for molding
- Perform equipment maintenance and repairs; maintain and organize tools and equipment
- Inspect parts for qualification
- Select molding setup parameters for new tooling
- Work productively and cooperatively with others while maintain clear communications
- Knowledge to perform quality test on each product type; knowledge to remove/install injection molding tools and perform daily PM’s on tools
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Basic Math
- Blueprint Reading
